Connecticut Open House Day.

Did you know that once a year, Connecticut coordinates and opens its doors to the public?  This is the 11th year, and on June 13, many of Connecticut's historical centers, museums, gardens and shops will participate in Open House Day, an event offering free or reduced admissions, special activities, and other offerings for one day only.  Take a tour of some local events, get out and visit a place you've been wanting to see, or find a spot entirely new.  Find the full list of participating locations here: Connecticut Open House Day

A few highlights:


The American Clock and Watch Museum in Bristol will have free admission from 10am - 5pm.  100 Maple Street, Bristol.
 

The New England Ballet Company in Bridgeport will be Open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., offering free trial at 10 a.m., with a special performance of “Peter & the Wolf” a 1 p.m.  130 Elms Street, Bridgeport.
 

The Connecticut Science Center will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Receive a $2 off general admission to Connecticut residents.  250 Columbus Street, Hartford.



Cork and Brew in Stonington will be offering enjoy complimentary wine tasting from 9am - 4pm,  and leave with a Cork & Brew wine glass!  35 North Main Street, Stonington.

Additionally, the Visit Connecticut! site is a great resource for things to do in the state.  There are suggested trips along different themes, what's happening this weekend, and this really amazing interactive map that allows you to click on different regions and see what's coming up for events in your area.  You need to check it out and see all that Connecticut has to offer!
