One Thing: Newsletter Sign-Up Links for your Etsy Shop

Our One Thing series is all about fitting an action into your day that is fast, efficient, and hopefully, effective for your business. Today is all about building your email list through your Etsy Shop.

Email marketing is still the best way to reach your target audience.  This is a huge topic, but the focus today is providing links to subscribe to your list on Etsy.

There are three major places to place your newsletter sign-up link within your Etsy Shop:  About Page; Shop Announcement; Message to Buyers.

When you edit your About Page, click on the Story tab and add your sign-up link where it makes sense in the "story" you write about yourself and your shop.  There is also the Related Links section, which does not have a newsletter option at this time. There is a link to your Shop Website, so be sure to have a highly visible sign-up there for your potential customers.

Your Shop Announcement is a very prominent place to provide information, so a link to your newsletter should be included.  This section is right below your featured item images and is the first place visitors to your shop can read more about you and your creations.

And finally, in your Message to Buyers note, definitely include your link to sign-up in this area to encourage your current customers to keep up to date on your business.  This is included in the Etsy order confirmation email that your buyers receive after purchasing.

Providing the link to your newsletter in as many places as possible will help to build your list, so your message will reach the people who most want to hear from you and about what you create.  Do this One Thing today!

Hartford Prints! Presents: 2nd Annual Farm to Street Dinner

The 2nd Annual FARM TO STREET DINNER, hosted by Hartford Prints!, ON20, and Hartford Food System, is a pop-up community event celebrating our city and our streets. Last year, 160 people sat down to one long communal table on Pratt Street in downtown Hartford. This year, we're expanding the event to seat over 200 guests for a farm-to-street outdoor dinner in an exciting new location. Let's eat, drink, and grow our city together!

Save the Date for Farm to Street
Saturday, June 25th at 6:00pm
Hartford, Connecticut

Tickets will go on sale Monday, May 9th at 10am and will be priced at $40 each. VIP tickets will be available for $60 each and include an exclusive tour of Hartford Food System's urban farm.

Guests are asked to cook and bring their own entrees. A local, seasonal first course and dessert, catered by ON20, are included in the ticket price, as well as food tastings and local beverages from some of our state's best. This is a 21 and over event.

Nutmeg Collective Gift Shop Field Trip: Chester and Colchester

Lark

Denise of The Burnt Shop came up with the idea for a member field trip to several gift shops in Connecticut. Over ten members participated and each shop received a basket of Nutmeg Collective samples. This is a look at the final stops in Chester and Colchester.

Lark

The shop in Chester was Lark, housing a beautiful collection of handmade gifts and accessories, curated by owner, Suzie.  She had prepared a delicious dip for each visitor, as well as a small gift to take home - such a welcoming host and shop!

Lark

From the site: "Nestled in the heart of the village of historic Chester, Lark is a charming shop with an ever-changing, wide variety of beautiful pieces. Unique items gathered in a way that brings a truly exceptional shopping experience. Suzie has “collected” artists, not only because they make beautiful things, but because they have beautiful stories and amazing spirits." Head to this whimsical and warm shop to see its lovely collection of artisan goods.

Rings and Things
The final stop on the whirlwind field trip was in Colchester at Rings and Things, a shop filled with jewelry, locally-made and American-made products, owned by Suzanne.

Rings and Things
From the site: "Whether shopping for a birthday, an anniversary or just something to add to your collection, we've got it. We also added some of our favorite local, handmade and made in the USA vendors to compliment our jewelry collection."  Rings and Things has recently expanded it's shop, so be sure to stop by and explore all the goodness inside!

Rings and Things
The Nutmeg Collective wants to thank all the shops on our trip for their generosity and warmth. It was truly a great experience for all involved.

Please support the lovely shops that hosted the group on the final legs of the field trip.
